About the Author.

I was born in Chicago in June of 1951 with a very severe facial deformity. I had roughly 65 surgeries performed by one of the foremost surgeons in the U.S. Even though he did his best, the deformity was still very noticeable. Because of that, I grew up in an environment that shunned people like me. At that time, I was labeled with mental retardation (which I wasn’t). During my early years growing up, I was bullied, scorned, and laughed at. When depression took hold at age 22, I eventually took a dark turn, and at the lowest point in my life, I planned suicide. One episode turned my life around and, at that final moment, gave me peace. I accepted who I was and never looked back.

Through perseverance and sheer determination, I moved through life knowing God’s love and dedicated my life to Him and Jesus Christ. Through the years, I found success upon success with God’s help. I became a member of a top 40 cover band in the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. That band was called “Elite” and became one of the top rock bands in the Chicagoland area. I married a woman named Linda, who has been by my side for almost 50 years.

With two sons and four grandchildren, I’m retired and devote most of my time to writing, recording music, and enjoying life with my beautiful wife and family. I’m also using my musical talents to play rhythm and lead guitar in a praise band for my church at 8:30 am on Sunday morning for worship service. I’m retired and living the rest of my life in Clermont, Florida.
